NEW YORK (AP) — Wall Street is holding relatively steady after the latest update on inflation came in almost exactly as economists expected. The S&P 500 edged up by 0.3% in midday trading Wednesday, coming off one of its best days of the year. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 184 points, and the Nasdaq composite rose 0.1%. Treasury yields were easing a bit after the U.S. government said consumers paid prices for food, gasoline and other things last month that were 2.9% higher than a year earlier. Ernesto threatens to strengthen into a major storm en route to Bermuda. It’s forecast to move through open waters for the rest of the week and make its closest approach to Bermuda on Saturday.
